Ferrari has announced details of its track ready 2018 488 Pista, before its unveiling at the Geneva motor show.

The 488 Pista has the most powerful V8 in Ferrari history. The 3.9L twin turbo V8 produces 530kW and 770Nm. This beast of an engine means the car can do the 0 to 100 km/h sprint in 2.85 seconds and the 0 to 200 km/h in 7.6 seconds. Top speed is 340 km/h. To help achieve these times the 488 Pista is 90kg lighter than the 488.

To help the car stick to the road or track the aerodynamics have been overhauled. For example the front splitter now runs with the same ramp angle as the 488 GTE racer, an F1 style ‘S-duct’ draws air from the underside of the nose and the spoiler is ‘blown’ to create more downforce. The car also has all the necessary technology to assist the driver such as E-Differential, F1 inspired traction control, magnetically controlled dampers plus a new ‘Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer’ which uses on board software to adjust brake pressure at the calipers.
