Alpina has announced details of the European XD3. No decision has been made about whether the car will be offered in Australia.
Under the bonnet in the left hand drive car is a 3.0L diesel inline six cylinder engine with quad (yep 4) turbos on top producing 286kW and 770Nm. 0 to 100 km/h sprint can be done in 4.6 seconds.
The right hand car is a 3.0L diesel inline six cylinder engine with twin turbos on top producing 246kW and 700Nm. 0 to 100 km/h sprint can be done in 4.9 seconds.
Both engines are mated to an eight speed automatic gearbox with a re-calibrated version of BMW’s xDrive all wheel drive system, active rear limited slip differential and adjustable dampers.
To differentiate the car the Alpina has some unique styling, instruments and badging.
